Established in 1995, China Association of Auctioneers (abbr. CAA) is the exclusive national auctioneers association in China. Headquartered in Beijing, the CAA represents the interests of 3095 auction companies and 13622 individual auctioneers around the nation. Our members achieved annual transaction of RMB726.8 billion in 2019.
CAA aims to maintain the legal rights and to enhance the economic and social benefits of Chinese auction industry with openness, unity, integration and win-win development.
1995 CAA was established in the Great Hall of the People on June 22.
1996 Auction Law of the People's Republic of China officially took effect.
1997 CAA licensed the first group of national auctioneers.
2002 CAA held the 1st Chinese Auctioneers Championship Contest. Four years a time, the competition has become an Award of Auction Oscar in Chinese auctioneers’ careers.
2020 CAA Education has provide with multiple courses including senior managers training, auction marketing management, international class and online classes relevant to auction business, and auctioneers reference books.
2004 CAA released Regulations on Enhancing Industry Self-discipline.
2011 CAA released Chinese Art Auction Houses Self-discipline Convention, publicly against Fake Auction and Forgery Sales. 193 art auction houses have signed the convention.
2014 Chinese Auto Auction Houses Self-discipline Convention" was also released. 270 auto auction houses have signed the convention.
2008 National Auction Standardization Technical Committee was approved to set up, unlocking the development of auction standardization.
2010 CAA launched the 1st industrial standard Standard for Auction of Cultural Relics and Artworks.
2020 Now we have 2 national standards Grade Assessment and Classification for Auction Enterprises and Online Auction Standard, 6 industrial standards Standard for Auction of Cultural Relics and Artworks, Auction Terminology, Code of Practice for Real Estate Auction, Code of Practice for Vehicles Auction and Specification for Auctioneers Practice, Product Quality Grade of Cut Flowers Auction-Part1:General requirement as well as 1 group standard Code of Practice for Benefit Auction.
2008 CAA published the Annual Report on China Auction Industry for the first time.
2011 CAA launched the Chinese Antiques and Artworks Statistical Report for the first time.
2013 CAA&artnet launched the Global Statistical Report on Chinese Antiques and Artworks for the first time.
2017 1st Chinese Auto Auction Market Report was released.

2011 CAA launched the Online Auction Platform for members, entering into the Internet Era.
2016 Online Auction Standard was released.
2017 China Auction Network (CAN) was founded and invested by CAA and strategic partners, offering IT services and transaction platform for Chinese online auction business. CAN is a professional asset transaction platform which provides clients and users with comprehensive services including auction marketing, project consultancy, online business, finance and logistics.
2005 Chinese Antiques and Artwork International Forum was initiated since 2005 and held every four years.
2014 CAA held Present and Future: Chinese Antiques and Artwork International Forum in New York, indicating the Chinese started the globalization and internationalization.
2016 CAA initiated the QINGHUA AWARD, granting awards annually to the art auction companies by multiple indexes.
2019 CAA held the 1st Chinese Auto Auction International Forum in Beijing, gathering fellowship from the United States and Japan to join the roundtable discussion. It will be held every two years.
2020 CAA has build a worldwide cooperative networks including associations, research institutions, auction companies, embassies, international committees as well as the media.
